It depends on what distance.

If a cheetah and a fast female marathon runner were to race anything short of a mile, the cheetah would win- it can run 70 mph at top speed for about 300-400 yards; I imagine it can maintain 50 mph for a mile. Marathon runners can't sprint very fast; a woman marathon runner can sprint at a top speed of roughly 18 mph and run about 11.2 mph average for a marathon.
Now, a cheetah doesn't have awfully good endurance and would tire out after, I suppose, 4 miles- after which, the marathoner would pass the sitting, worn cheetah. This is assuming the cheetah doesn't kill the runner though...
For a marathon, a cheetah isn't endurance equipped to finish a marathon; it goes at high speed to kill its prey within a short time but is no good for long chases. A top woman marathoner can finish in about 2 hours, 20 minutes. Again, the cheetah would get ahead in the beginning but tire out, and the marathoner, if not killed by the cheetah, would win.

It would be a short race as the Cheetah is a short range sprinter, But the Cheetah would have a fresh meal of Female Marathon Champion as it sat exhausted.

umm let me think... the cheetah!!!

lol, that cat would have to be pretty tired to lose to a female marathon champion...

not because she's a woman, but because it doesnt matter how many miles you can run at once, but how fast your SPRINT is, for that next quarter mile...

The cheetah could capture the human good earlier than the conclude line, and settle all the way down to devour. Therefore, no one could win the race, considering that they under no circumstances reached the conclude line. From the survival factor of view, the cheetah could win, despite the fact that.
