The Galapogos Land Tortoise may well be the logest at 193 years (see link).
The shortest is probably some sort of bacteria, assuming you're talking about all types of animal, not just mammals. The odd thing about bacteria is 'If it reproduces by dividing into 2 new bacteria, has it actually died and has it's lifespan come to an end?'.

Giant tortoise longest some can live 200yrs and the opossum has a short life span of only one to two years. Obviously there are some insects or marine life w/ shorter spans but some I wouldnt really consider them as animals

i think of the respond you're searching for is as follows: The animal with the slowest metabolism, with the main effective skeleton(or an entire loss of one) ... like the tortoise. Squids, understanding little or no approximately them, are theory to stay properly over 200 years interior the super depths of the sea.... the place there are not any actual predators.

Some bacteria have been re-animated after being frozen in ice for thousands of years, although this is not really continual life.
It has been postulated that bacteria could survive on a commet through outerspace for millenia, though the conditions would require them to be frozen (shut down) for the duration, until they reach conditions that are more favourable.

I think the shortest is the fruit fly (24hrs), and the longest I think is the coral reef or the giant turtle.
