So do I brother. Make sure it's first registered with the Writer's Guild of America or it's copyrighted. You can enter it into screen writing contests and see how much attention it gets. You should prepare for rejection because very few scripts comming from outside hardly get picked up. Nevertheless if it's good it will get sold.

Here's my plan. I'm currently working on a short film as a director. It's on a good topic and I'll send it to different short film festivals. While it's doing that, I'll try to network with some agents in the business. Most people cannot legally even hear your story if it's not brought to them by a lawyer or agent. I'm going to try to get my script in the hands of a producer since they're more willing to accept materials from unknowns. If they like the script they will option it. That means they will have the right to TRY to sell your script and you can't show it to any other producers during that time. If they take it to the studio and the studio likes it, they may buy it.

I suggest googling selling scripts and read up on it. You might have a lot to learn. Always remember that it's a business and while you're very passionate about your story, they have tons of writers that they pay to write their movies based on what they think people want to see. Good luck. Write back if you have any questions.
