Throughout American history, we have seen patterns of converting and stealing. The Natives were "civilized" to Christianity and got screwed out of their land. Does "trail of tears" ring a bell? Is it part of our national egotistical delusion to believe in manifest destiny? Manifest destiny states that America is chosen by God. Oh wait, I thought Israel was chosen by God? The point I am trying to make is that "holier than thou" attitudes gives the feeling that only certain "God given" privileges belong to the chosen group. I feel that deep down inside, religion is just a front for the human desire to conquer one another. The bible is filled with stories of the chosen people committing wars and genocide on tribes that did nothing to them.

the reason why oil isn't any cheaper is because corporations are realizing larger profits by obtaining cheaper oil and selling gas to the public for the same prices as originally.

Bush and the Neocons wants to convert Iraq into Republicans for their own selfish obvious reasons. I don't think it's working as it isn't working right here in America. Democracy has more than one party or it makes a Dictator like Saddam was, and Bush wants to be. I say give the Iraqi's some credit for denouncing Bush politics....America isn't on board with the Neocons either. These people want jobs and an economy so they can live too, this the Republicans have failed to deliver over their oil greed. Haliburton, Carlyle, and Bechtel Corps have embezzled funds from America towards the rebuilding of Iraq, and supported yet another Dictator. Bush built the Shite Militia and trained the forces that attack American soldiers with his best plan and thinking. Bush is a madman!!

The Americans call this idea as Pax America in which every thing in this world should be about America and many American presidents believe that America is the whole idea about the world universalism. Its a borrowed idea of Pax Romana that the Roman Empire is about everything in this world.

The Christians since hundred of years ago intend to assert to the Jews that although the Jews might claimed that they are the chosen people, but the Christians were the chosen son and Jesus is the Son of God.

The Muslims at one point in history called the Christians as Ahl-al-Kitab, meaning people of the book (the old testament) but it wasn't until the Church forced the believers to subcribe to the idea presented in the new testament. In the old testament, Jesus confessed that there will be a new prophet and he wasn't for a particular people or group only. An idea opposed by the Christians but silent by the Jews.

In history, British and the French divided the Arabs world among themselves as you can see that some of the Arabs world which includes North Africa (Maghribi) exist people who can speak fluent French and fluent English. These two European superpower that assert their control on the Tigris and Euphrates delta which automatically put their control on the world most important oil pipe line which ended at the Persian Gulf. Oil that was sucked from the Iranians and Iraqis everyday live. Leaving them crawling on their own motherland.

The American comes when Jews funded American caused in WWII and politically force the establishment of the Israel in 1948 by America. What the Americans will get in return? A piece of share of the oil pipe line that they are still working hard after almost 60 years.

You need to give us something that even remotely confirms your assertion.
No one is trying to convert the Iraqis to anything except free self rule.
As of yet I don't think much oil is coming out of Iraq and no U.S. firm can buy from them yet if there was.
If we wanted to steal their oil why would we want to help them set up a government.
Oil companies only make large profits because of volume of sales. The profit on one gallon of gas is $0.10.
Have you even got a clue that oil is not just gasoline? The computer you are using is mostly made from oil so is the chair you are setting in and the carpet under your feet.
The oil companies have been investigated twelve times by congress and not once have they been found to be doing anything wrong.

Have you ever heard of freedom or human rights or peaceful coexistence? These are what we are fighting for. They don't sell newspapers or make for exciting news shows though so other things have been invented so that profits keep coming in.You have the wrong bad guy and the wrong business profiteering.

~Thank you for remembering the Native American Indians. Christianity is involved, a front by the president to trick people into thinking he's only out to do good moral things. Nothing could be farther from the truth!
I don't think he sent anyone over there to convert their religion, but he definitely wants their oil. The oil is very guarded.~

Could it have something to do as well with the facts found out in the ch4 award winning Dispatches series... in particular the programmed aired in UK last night - ie 15/01/07 - http://www.channel4.com/news/dispatches/article.jsp?id=1066

If UK Govt are allowing such "Freedom of Speech" and being SO tolerant towards Iraq and Afghanistan, it CAN only mean they want something in return - such as oil !!!.. to keep up with USA !!

War always comes down to money in the end - and greed !.. which the end result is un-neccessary body bags being filled !

I don't think there's any interest in converting anybody to Christianity. But stealing of oil sounds like corrupt American leaders - not necessarily her people!

Is this a question? I don't think it is. Are you looking for an answer? or just people to agree with you like sheep. If we are converting people to christianity, then we are failing. And why would oil be so expensive if we were stealing it. By the way not everything rolling stone magazine and bill mahr say is correct.
