Marvel has Galactus, does DC have someone similar?

DC had someone they called Mr. Nebula, who was a campy takeoff on Galactus. His herald was the Scarlet Skier. The Justice League fought him (back in the Keith Giffen days, IIRC.)

The things is, Nebula wasn’t going to devour the Earth. Oh, my! no. He was going to REDECORATE it…!
They beat him by saying “We’ve already heard so much about you, and we’ve admired your style so much. Let us show you how we’ve already started trying to emulate you!”

[They showed him the tackiest city on Earth, Las Vegas.]

He was completely fooled, and left Earth alone, allowing us to follow our own ‘artistic vision’ and finish the job ourselves…!

But, seriously, the most cosmic villains that DC had were the ones that the Spectre fought against, like the Anti-Matter Man (long, long before the Anti-Monitor…!). He was going to touch Earth 1 and Earth 2and cause them to blow up. Spectre had to hold them apart with his hands and his feet, a job twice as difficult as that of legendary Atlas, who only had to hold up the Earth..

There was also Black Zero, who claimed to have been the one responsible for Krypton blowing up. (This
was in the 60’s or 70’s) I don’t believe that he was considered part of the canon, tho’ there was a tip of the
hat to him in naming a terrorist group on Krypton after him in more recent years.

Libra was a JLA villain who had the potential to become like Galactus, but they never brought him back.
He used a device to steal half of the JLA’s powers. Then he got the fool idea to absorb half the Milky Way.
He started to grow, and expanded so rapidly that he couldn’t keep up with the great new ideas he kept
getting to destroy the JLA. Every time he thought of a new one, he would think of an even better one before
he could put the first one into operation! In the end, they didn’t really defeat him, he just sort of dissipated.

They had to use Amazo, the android that could absorb their powers, to recover them. But those are the ones
that come closest to Galactus, in DC. Oh, and there was also the Sun Eater, that Ferro lad of the Legion of
Super Heroes sacrificed his life to destroy. It swallowed stars instead of planets.

Once (long, LONG ago) I drew a cover for the fanzine Invisible Eagle, which asked What if Galactus ate
the Earth? It showed him holding the earth in his hand (I know, he’s not supposed to be that big) and taking
a bite out of it. The thought balloon went: “Ahh, crunchy granite continents…! Mmmm, delicious molten
magma filling, too!” This was a take off on the Twinkies ads. Maybe you had to be there.

Darksied... He may not be from a former universe... but his ambition and god-complex is probably the closest to Galactus. OR maybe if you combined the Monitor and Anti-Monitor... hummm..
