reliability should not depend on the majority of answer, it should be based on the credibility of the person and a reliable source should be available..
but if its something that is not technical..i'd say go with the answer that really moved you and not the number of votes..

It's inconsistent, because not everyone has the same information. Like if you asked a bunch of 3rd graders about trigonometry, it wouldn't matter if you asked 5 or 500, because they know nothing about it. Now ask a group of college students to sing their ABC's and you will get 100% (I would hope so!!)
So no mater how many people you ask, there is no guarantee that majority is right.

Well, this category has settled multiple debates between Y!A users, but I can never get a serious answer to a serious question from P&S. And thats ok, I come here strictly to phuck around and meet cool, non serious people. So far, so good. It's been a wild ride.

Well, if it is for personal knowledge, not so many, I wouldnt think. If it is scientific, you would need a controlled group which is nearly impossible to get on here.

Very many. Quite difficult to accomplish since you don't know if their answer is true or not.

We'll never know. Unfortunately many users do not take it very seriously.
