High School sophmore. Stick in Applied Physics, don't understand it and can't drop it. what should I do?

Like I said, I'm a High School Sophmore (10th grade). I'm required to take Applied Physics to graduate, but I don't understand anything I've been taught this year. I have a loose grasp on the basics (things learned from BIll Nye and School House Rock).

Heres my problem: If I drop the class, I have to take it again next If I don't maintain a 2.0 GPA I get kicked out of the school.year or I don't graduate. What should I do?

The teacher is of no use, all he has us do is read ou of the book, do a few labs and take tests. He never lectures or explains for the purpose of clarification, and instead has students whiteboard and in essence do his job for him.

Additional background: The Teacher will not answer questions and tell My grades, needless to say aren't spectacular in this class. Next, I should tell you that I do the work, I just misplace it between the time he grades it and collects it.

Even if I had an A, I would still be in the same position because I not of learned anything by taking the class, and would feel like I was waisting my time.

P.S. I'm sorry for making this so long, and the fact that it seems as though I am just complaining to anyone who will listen.

Okay, first off, the textbook and the assignments should be enough to clarify and teach you the information. You don't really need your teacher. In my experience, most high school teachers are completely useless and are only there for the dumb kids who can't read well enough to teach themselves and also to entertain the dumb kids with their jokes. Too many high school teachers think they are comedians. I don't think you're dumb, so become responsible for your own education. It's something you'll have to do in college anyways. That is if you chose to go.

Secondly, it's not your teachers fault you are unable to keep track of your notes and assignments. Again, you must learn responsibility. If you really are doing your assignments, then put them someplace where you won't lose them or hand them in early. If you do lose your assignment, redo it because otherwise you deserve a zero.

It really looks like you have to stick it out. Don't worry about "wasting your time". A lot of the classes you'll take in high school you'll never use after you finish your GED. Don't worry about it.
I strongly suggest getting a student tutor. Just ask around. You'd be surprised how open people are to helping if you just ask (even an oddball like me).

Talk to the school principle. If they aren't willing to listen to your issues then tell your parents and write a letter to the school board. You probably aren't the only one that doesn't get the material.
