I intermittently hear music and chinese talking like on radio coming through the speakers at a low level but audible. The speakers are connected to the bass box which is in turn plugged into the Audigy sound card. surely the speakers cannot act as a receptor for foreign radio without the PC being on? and even if it was on, why would i hear it? I have creative speakers and an audigy 4 sound card. i have an ASUS wireless card and i connect to my mates wireless router through this.

Cover your PC with aluminum foil and see if that will shield your PC from incoming radio signals. If that doesn't work, then cover
both PC and speakers with aluminum foil and see if that stops the signals. If that works then only your speakers need to be covered.

I had this issue once, and the local geekologist came around to my house and checked my speakers and PC over, but couldn't find any problems. That got me worried so next in was the area demonist from the church of purple robed tangled tongue talkers. He threw water everywhere and passed the plate around and left after exorcising my girly file. (onto his flash thingie) I was still crouching in a circle on the floor covered in garlic and half strangled by the 40 assorted cross necklaces late that night when my little brother walked by my bedroom, took one look at my sorry carcass and said; "Uh oohh....Whooshing sounds in your speakers huh?...I can fix that for $10. and a Playboy mag." My dues duely paid, he wandered off towards the door perusing stuff he shouldn't be knowing anything about yet saying.... "The answer is simple Danny, switch off the bluetooth connection on either your cell phone or your PC, get the cell phone off your hip, or stop eating mom's red hot chilli three bean curry." Oh. .

it's possible only if you're connected to the internet or whatever and a spy is on your system and he's doing all these but becos you say your pc is off i'm not sure it may be because your friend was accessing the net and since you both are on the same ip you hear such stuff. you can report this abuse anytime cos i didnt actually know what the problem could be about. so good luck.

If you are next to an AM radio transmitter of some sort, it is not uncommon for that to happen. I had a friend who lived very close to an AM transmitter for a radio station. If you picked up the telephone, you could hear the station. If you turned on an amplifier, you could hear the station. Very annoying.
