Hen night is used here in the US to...Its when the hens fly the coop and get together for a girls night out...We leave all the roosters at home...

In Australia hen's nights are for the girls and bucks nights are for the guys.. not sure why they are called this though

The female version is called hen party because its all women and one is about to marry hence fly the coop. the male version is a stag party because he has shown his manliness/strength and bagged a woman.

"Hen" nite is meant for Girls. Usually is meant for one of the gal who is getting marry soon.. somehow is like a celebration fro her. "Bachelor" nite is meant for the males.
