Condoms are the best temporary contraceptive for men while vasectomy is the best permanent solution available to men. Sadly, almost all other forms of contraception are for the women only.

Periodic abstinence, calendar based: 9% for perfect use; 25% for typical use.
Withdrawal: 4% for perfect use; 27% for typical use.
One-month injectable contraceptive: 0.05% for perfect use; 3% for typical use.
No contraceptive: 85% risk of pregnancy.
The message: If you don't want to get pregnant, and plan to have sex, have a health professional teach you exactly how to use the contraceptive method you choose.

Vasectomy without a doubt, mainly because men are unreliable in their pill taking habits to prevent conception. The hard on dictates (pardon the pun) to the the brain and nothing else is important.
Having a vas is total freedom for the woman and the man!
