Hi, I am having a bit of a problem. I met this person over MySpace and we have become best buds. Now he wants to move where I live and I am all for it but everyone I know won't be since I met him over the internet. I'm trying to think of an excuse that will seem legit so people don't freak. I can't say hes an old friend or a friend of a friend... should I say I knew him back in the day from school? Im 18 and hes 22... Give me some advice.

Please only serious comments, none of this "How do u not know he's a psycho from the net?"

Also: Neither him or I are gay and he wants to live in the same town not the same house! That would be a no, no!

How long have you known him? And does anybody know him, so you can somewhat get an idea what kind of person he is. You are rather very young. I would wait it out a little longer. Have you guys got together and at least hung out yet? Living with someone is entirely different then not living with them. You REALLY get to know someone when you live with them..TRUST ME!!!!!!!

First off you guys are just friends. And as long as he is getting his own place and not in any way sponging off of you then why would anyone have any thing to say about the matter. Besides I have met some people in the more conventional way that have turned out to be real nut jobs. How many people are really ever what they say they are? So just remember if he moves there to always be cautious. Don't get into the habit of loaning things/money until you really get to know him(well as much as anyone can). Don't go any where alone with him until you are sure you can trust him. If he starts to show some kind of weirdo behavior head for the hills. Take Care.

Don't move at first. Have you met him for the first time yet? If not, then really don't move until then.

Here is your excuse if you did decide to move.

Take a "vacation" to the place you are going to move. Secretly already have a job lined up.

Come back so excited about the city you just "vacationed" to and tell them that you have to live there, and already have a wonderful job blah blah blah.

If people ask just tell them the truth. You are friends and not lovers and if others wish to judge your friendship it is their problem. Most people would not ask anyway but whether you made a friend in cyberspace, drug rehab or at the zoo shouldn't matter to anybody.
