First response pregnancy tests...?

Question

i took one this morning with my first morning urine at 7:05am

2 - 3 minutes into the test it has a faint 2nd line but at first glance it looked to be a - result so i put it more into the light and sure enough there is a faint line but its not dark... its barely there but it is there if you get my drift.

i have taken many pregnancy tests before useing this particular brand and it has always been -. i have been trying for about 6 months with my other half to get pregnant so im hoping it is +.

i have brought another box of pregnancy tests with 3 in it so it is possible for me to take another test which ever day i like.

when should i test again?
should i try again in the morning just to mke sure it was a +?
will the line be any darker?

i have some mild cramping LIKE my period is coming but it hasnt and it was due 2-3 days ago. my brests are sore and im sleepy a little more then usual...

what should i do

The positive line is really faint. Is this okay? An HPT tells you exactly one thing: your urine either has detectable pregnancy hormone in it, or it doesn't. The darkness or lightness of a line doesn't mean much. Generally speaking, a very light line can mean there is a small amount of hCG in your urine, and a very dark line can mean there is a larger amount of hCG in your urine. This is why you may get a faint positive at 10 DPO but a darker positive at 18 DPO. However, this is not always true. Tests are all different, and even tests in the same box may differ in sensitivity. Comparing light/dark lines will just drive you nuts. If you see a line in the "results" window, you're preg!

If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

I took the first response test the day after my period was do and found a faint 2nd line. If you read through the directions it will say one line may be lighter than the other. That would be the one as the pregnancy continues your line will get darker-
I would test again in a couple of days just to be sure

The hormone that the test picks up is most concentrated in the morning, so do another test with your first wee of the day so you feel sure. Chances are though you can't wait, so go do one now. It shouldn't make a huge lot of difference. (I did mine early afternoon).

These test are very accurate (over 99%) - most doctors I've heard of use them- and a false positive is extremely unlikely. (A false negative is more common when the hormone hasn't been detected).

If there was a coloured line then the chances you're preggers are really high, no matter how faint it was! From memory when I was preggers it was pretty faint too, with that brand. You certainly have the symptoms. So, chances are congrats are in order!

If i was you and really wanted to know...I would take a second test. If the signs are more towards the "positive" you should go see a dr and get a blood test. It may be a positive but you might not be that far along to know yet. Yes, you should test in the AM to get the best reading..it has something to do with the urine is more concentrated.

I had really bad cramps and thought i was starting my period...no period ever came...that was 15 yrs ago and now I have an awesome son! Good luck!

If there is a line there, faint or not, you are pregnant! You can take another in a couple days and will see that it has become a darker line because there will be more pregnancy hormone present, but as it is you are pregnant! Congratulations!

I bought the three pack of first response pregnancy tests they all had faint positive lines
i then bought another brand and it was a darker line and also positive

Well it could be a false positive or it could mean you're pregnant but you don't have enough HCG in your body yet for a full reading, sometimes when you stress to much about getting pregnant you don't get pregnant if you want a baby then relax and don't think about it too mch and i would wait about 3-5 days and then re-test that way you get a clear reading, and if you're gonna get your period and you haven't yet it could be the stress of tryin to get pregnant that is causing your period to be late. Make yourself a nice cup of tea watch a movie and relax, good things come to those who wait.

I would go ahead and take another. Have someone else there to help you look at the test. Whatever you do, don't interpret any result that you get after ten minutes. It could be a false positive.

If it's negative, wait another week. If your period hasn't started, take another, and so on.
