No, Pluto is not a planet.
It's actually a big mass of Ice and rock.
It's safer to go with eight because if your teacher marks it wrong. Just tell Him/Her that it isn't a planet anymore, therefore you wrote eight planets.

Officially its not a planet but some scientists disagree with thisnew theory .At the moment there is no right or wrong answer.Put that down on paper.Good luck with your exam.
