Does the answerer who says "Thank you for asking" have a better chance of getting selected the "Best Answer"?

I honestly dont know, KOH.. after all, this is Yahoo Q&A and who can say what motivates askers and respondents alike...

But politeness and good manners should never seek, or be used as a means to seek or curry favor... one should be gracious and courteous for the sake of civility and amity.. lord knows, the world can always use a little more of those two...

One thing I've noticed -- a "sexy" avatar and a "flirt" are far more likely to gain you the BA than a good answer or good manners.. or so it seems to me, and so it has been explained to me by someone I know who has used that tack (with success, I add.)

Thank you for asking, but in evaluating who is to get the Best Answer, I normally give it to the answer that satisfy my need at that particular point of asking the question.

I hope not, I just sometimes say that because it was a good question and I don't want to get best answer for that, I am just being grateful for such a good question that I have always wanted to ask. :)

Honestly i don't know. I would doubt it...i nearly always say thank you in my reply.....to date I have appx 420 best answers.....It is when it is heartfelt that i say this and that is most of the time....Thank You!

No, the person with the Best Answer (i.e. least crap) does. But thanks for asking. (I know the people before me already said it, but it still needed to be done).
