why in mobiles and telephones there is one dot or specific line on number 5? whats the use of that?

It is to help blind people to enter telnumbers. It is the same reason why the 'f' and the 'j' on your keyboard do have the same kind of dot.

I always thought is was to know where the middle of the key pad is in the dark. But I dont know, its just a guess
