It can very from 60 per hour to 120 per hour with me. A long term commercial job can be 60 per hour but I'm there for months and it helps win a bid. A residential job can be 100 to 120 per hour because I'm only there an hour or two.
Estimates usually just stat an over all price to do the job, then it's up to the electrician to complete the job in a set amount of time.

As a union master electrician, the company I worked for charged $185.00 an hour for me to come to your house and that was a few years ago. Thats probably the top of the line. If you can find an electrician willing to do your work as a side job, then a good rate is usually around $25.00 an hour plus material. If you have any construction going on around you or know of a construction sight, you can usually find a electrical company doing work there. Just stop and ask the electrician if he would be interested. Most will take the job as construction workers can always use the extra money. Good luck

Get a grip people! Here in the NYC/NJ area private electricians that do work for my clients and me make between 40-50 dollars an hr. Sometimes they can give you a quote for the whole job but that isn't always the case for remodeling work where unexpected problems always exist. $5 a day in Indonesia? No wonder!

I'm not an electrician however, i would guess it would depend on your experience and the amount of labor you put into it. I'd inform the customer upfront how much materials cost and how much for labor so that way you both agree and are on the same page. Also, get it in writing with both of your signatures so it shows what you both verbally agree upon and it specifically states on the contract. Hope this helps some...

The easiest way is just to get a toal price up front. I just paid $A115 for a ceiling fan installation (I supplied the fan) and it took 2 guys 40 minutes. As an hourly rate, that's high, but if you sweltering in the summer heat and need it done it's a bargain!

75/hr. They don't usually tell you their hours, they just give you a total price for the job.
