You overstretched it prior to Christmas cleaning up to look good for the visitors. It has just sprung back to its former size.
Maybe check that you haven't got the Hot water wash engaged!

Wow - same thing happened in our house. Yesterday my husband put his work trousers on and popped the button off the waistband. We're not talking now coz he blamed me for shrinking them. I shall show him this now to prove it was the machine :-) xxxxx

Yes, all my clothes are unaccountably too small for me now. They always are at this time of year. I can't imagine why that might be :)
