How long after filing your initial claim does it usually take to start receiving benefits?

Depends on how soon they process it and get off their butts. Just remember, if your employer contests it and this goes on for let's say 3 months and you're still getting benefits until the outcome. If they "reverse" your claim and side with the employer, you owe that money back. Just food for thought.

Depends on your state. But most of them take 8 weeks from the date you file. Some take longer. Depends on if you employer fights the claim.
