They are not a superpower - they may be powerful but they abuse that power and are messing up the world. Ask another question on how many people (who are not american) actually like americans or america - especially their idiot of a president. America is just destroying the world - recently they attacked an area in somalia just coz they thought one person who was a terrorist was ther. they killed lots of innocent people and in a country that already has lots of problems and conflict they dont need any more. Instead of bombing countries and sending in armies - send in things that will help them like food and other supplies - dont make problems worse.
Soon america will lose all their power and would probably be attacked - most likely by some country in the middle east since they have gone there just so that they can get oil which will make them stronger but the middle east weaker. Americans are just greedy and should stop attacking other countries. And if you like the american government now watch Loose Change - shows evidence of the americans knowing about the sept 11 attacks and also how they could have planned them themselves.

No the USA is a hyperpower. In the past, a number of Americans were engaged in a debate over whether the United States was going to be able to retain its hegemonic position in the international system.
On the one side was a common view that the apogee of American leadership in global affairs was over, and that henceforth the United States would face a long decline in its power relative to others in world politics.
On the other that the USA is a Hyperpower. It is true that the term hyperpower is often used epithetically and forensically by those opposed to particular exercises of power by the United States government. Hyperpower can be used as an analytical category to describe a certain kind of power in world politics. A hyperpower differs from a superpower; and this has implications for the USA's place in world politics.

The time period is redundant. Europe might want to park a sub some miles off the american coast and hit with a nuclear strike tommorow - sending it decrease back into the darkish a lengthy time period (earlier it knew what hit it). we are all weak millitarilly.. the mission for human beings - is something of the international now debates in the different room. tremendous powers do not get skipped over.

Have you had a bad experience in America johnny?
Not sure about their accuracy though. Watch some American films. The bad guys are always the worst shots and the good guys can take out villians from 500 yards in the dark with a BB gun.

Ummmm............probs best not to wind 'em up - you know who is in charge? That little guy who keeps sending troops to the Middle East? The little guy that would start a war with himself if he could? They are a superpower - but Mr. Bush is abusing it!

They are called a superpower because of the weapons and technology they have not because of how good they are at using it. Anyway a lot of their technology is developed by british firms. With no british firms to fund them they sell it to the good old US of A

In the mid 1960s, American scientists perfected the stupid bomb. In a tragic accident, one was detonated in the UK. As you can see, it worked.
