I am in Hong Kong and would like to find out if there is anyone out there who can help me - Can I patent or copyright an idea/theme ? It is available in other parts of the world for a long time( the first time i noticed it anywhere was..10 years ago). Until now, no one has even attempted. I wonder if i could patent or copyright the idea and try my luck.

Bear in mind - it is not something new and it is out there and i believe in my heart of hearts that it will be very successful, but i dont want to get ripped off by someone with more money and resourses and steal my idea.

Since no one has thought of it .... its seems fair that i have the first shout at it.

I really wish that someone could help me with this.

Thanx

You probably cannot copy an idea/theme if it has already been in existence for some time. The idea behind copyrights is to protect ORIGINAL ideas.

Patents are totally different and generally involve protecting a process or product.

Good luck,
