great wolf lodge is great. especially with friends. they have a lot of things little kids can do too. i havent been to castaway bay though. but gwl is open year round because it is an indoor waterpark. it has story time for the little kids at night, magiquest (a fantasy game played all throughout the hotel) a workout room, a huge waterpark, a pool outside for the summer, slides, a lazy river, a big water playground, a wave pool, lily pads, etc. its a lot of fun.
