Surge- The new word of the year. It sounds better than troop build up.
Surge... like a wave washing over me.

Yep... I LIKE IT.

They should have had the troop buildup, i mean, SURGE a long time ago. A long with the new rules of engagement. Open Fire and SURGE!!!

Your off hand remark "God knows your opinion counts...." does not ....unfortunately...apply here. We have a president who cares nothing for the opinions of 99.9% percent of the people he is supposed to lead into a better life.
It has already been said that adding 20,000,000 more men to Iraq will only give the muslims from both sects of their religion that many new targets. There is a civil war in Iraq where Sunnis are fighting Shiites and both are practicing on Americans with any spare bullets or bombs they have left over.
Now that Saddam has been hung for the amusement of the present Iraq government, Prez Bush should be satisfied that he got the man who tried to kill his daddy, and pull out the troops.

Iraq has become a "Money Pit."

We are now at a "Sophie's Choice" or "Catch-22" stage of the game.

If we leave, the Iraqi government shall plunge into chaos, due to the factionalist infighting of its different groups.

Iran or Syria may then intervene, instituting a government repugnant to the U.S.

However, if we send more troops, we subject more Americans to dying in a war that really does not directly pose a danger to the U.S.

Further, American soldiers appear to be bound by what they can or cannot do. Look at all of the recent "war crimes" that have been prosecuted. It is Mylai 5 all over again.

We have laid the ground work for the new Iraqi government to be able to succeed. If they do not, it is their choice.

It is time that the U.S. government spent more resources on domestic productivity than intervening in other countries' affairs.

As long as it gets the job done and my brother home quicker then its a good idea. More people means more protection for the troops, so all that are willing to go should.

The build up came with an agreement from Iraq to be more proactive towards ALL Militants. I think the question should be "did Bush make a sucker deal"?

The Middle East will never be peaceful without ending the Israeli occupation. This is the conclusion of the UN, EU, Backer-Hamilton report, and President Carter new book.
