First: It's Sweetest Day, not "Sweeties" Day. Secondly: Don't jump to conclusions. Is it possible he TOLD you it was from Avon, just pulling a prank on with you? Inside the band will be stamps telling you what the material is. If the ring is made by Avon, it will be stamped inside the band as such. You're going to feel mighty bad if you've made an issue over this "piece of crap" when it may or may not be true. I'm sure you'll justify it if that turns out to be the case, but your attitude sucks. If is IS the Avon ring, guess what? It's "silvertone," and that "tone" will wear off. It won't take long with you wearing the ring every day, plus it can and will react to cleaning supplies, and discolor. You won't be able to wear it for life, plain and simple. It will become very clear very quickly that it's of lesser quality, then you can ask the obvious questions. Why would you "bring it to his attention" during a future argument? You're seriously going to stew on this until some completely unconnected event triggers a pile-on of complaints? Idea: Learn to talk to your partner about things that concern you now, before you get deeper in this relationship.

I wouldn't take his generous gift as the most sincere "i love you" that ever happened. He may love you, but a necklace does not mean true love. Talking on the phone and learning about each other is great, but to know and love someone takes physical interaction. They way you two are together, how you interact and the way your body language talks to each others. So... kudos on the bling, but You'll know when the real love is there.... its something you can't help but feel without having to ask a bunch of strangers.
Good luck!

Sweetie, I have had boyfriends who have tried to buy me cars. It doesn't mean they love you. The actions are what counts. Does he respect your wishes? Is he happy to be with you doing anything from just hanging out to going out to dinner? Does he like to talk with you and sincerely care about how you think and feel? What is unclear is why you are asking your question. A man can love you in a week. It is not what he buys that proves it. He could very well love you. It is not what he buys but how he treats you that counts.

No, it doesn't! If he gives you more than diamonds: love affections, roses, sweetmeats and etc. Then that guy really loves you! Diamonds can just be a trick, you know!

uh no, and also, eww gross, your good friends ex? yuch. and you cannot possibly know you love someone that soon, diamonds or not. besides, something much more personal rather than materialistic would show how well he really knew you, and what his true reasons for loving you were. diamonds are just sparkly and responsible for killing thousands of people in africa.
