Depending on the location of the burn you could cut the section out and replace it with a new piece of the same carpet. This of course relies on you having a source of spare carpet though and that the burn is not in a particularly noticeable location.
The other option is to shave some fibers from a non-visible patch of carpet somewhere and fill the burn with a little craft glue. Now fill the burn with the fibers you shaved off elsewhere. This should make it un-noticeable.

Depends on what type of carpet you have. If the burn mark is small and you have plush carpet, you might be able to cut out the burn marks and not notice it.

snip out just the burned parts of the carpet, and glue in a little patch if its' really bad. you may be able to snitch a few scraps from the corner of a closet, roll them up and glue them in.

You could trim just the tip of the carpet where it was burned.

small scissors...cut out the black melted plastic, and then rub it with a brush (used toothbrush) until it meshes...that is, if it's at all shaggy.

if it's thin carpet without loose yars, you'll need to pull it up, find yarn that matches, get a big needle and make a stitch or two, tying them tight.

my mother would clip a few fibers from inconspicuous spots and fabric glue them to the burn area...

It was crazy enough to work efficiently lol.

Hello =)

If it doesn't go down very deep, you simply snip off the burnt fibres with a scissors, and no one will ever notice it.

Namaste,

Use a double edge razor blade and gently "shave " it and/or use a piece of rough sand-paper and gently "paper" it.
