I have pain from the base of the skull, to the middle of my back. Its worse in my neck, and at the base of the skull, upper neck i guess, and if it doesnt hurt all the time, i get shooting pain, or it feels like somethings being tickled inside, like nerves or somethin. Its been goin on for about 2 weeks, and i havent been able to see the doctor yet. Anyone had this problem before?

I had a similar experience. You need to go get this checked by a doctor. ALL OF YOUR NERVES run down from your skull through your spinal cord. Especially if you are experiencing any sense of numbness ANYWHERE on your body.

Mine started up when I fell doing some yardwork. I thought I had twisted wrong or something. After a few days I then thought I had a disc out of place because I kept having upper back and neck pain.
Long story short, I ended up in the hospital (emergency) about a month later. I ended up having a laminectomy (with fusion). I now have 2 titanium rods holding my neck so as to support my head.
It has been a year now, and most of my numbness went away. The doctors told me I was within millimeters (and I'm not exaggerating) from being paralyzed.

Don't mess around with your spine!

Did you have some kind of physical trauma recently? Auto accident, fall from a bike or skateboard? Do you work a job where you look downward all day and your neck is bent? It sounds like a pinched nerve. An X-ray would only show if a bone was doing it. Otherwise you may have to get an MRI which would show soft tissue problems. I'd make an appointment to see a Dr. and in the meantime, maybe ice it. If you're running a fever, see a doctor immediately! It may be meningitis which is serious.

Actually, yes. For some weeks now. The pain comes and goes, but when it comes, it's excruiciating. We both need to see doctors. I think mine may be the result of a fall.
