Spider-Man 3 is mostly about The Sandman and Hobgollin. I would bank that they are introducing the alien costume, showing that its intentions are evil. Having spider-man reject the alien, then the alien finding Eddie Brock and the 2 of them transforming into Venom at the very end of the movie, but Spider-Man and Venom NOT meet and fight until Spider-Man 4.Venom will be the teaser for Spider-Man 4.
This will build a HUGE amount of hype for Spider-Man 4. Sony and Marvel would both benefit from this. Marvel would be able to sell huge number Venom comics for at least 2 years before Spider-Man 4, and Spider-Man 4 will probably have the biggest opening EVER.

Topher Grace is Venom. The trailers show him quite a bit so I would think he is in at least the last 1/2 hour.

I think it's going to be one of the main story line.Topher Grace's character is going to find the black spider suit and become venom....

Gunsmith's answer was mostly right, however all the principal actors only signed contracts for 3 films, and most haven't expressed interest in returning.(at least in the near future) So unfortunetly it will probably end as a trilogy

from the looks of it yes. it looks as if eddie brock (the original venom) will not become so until the end. it appears as if the simbiote costume will work out just as in the comics and then when peter parker finds out what it is doing to him he will regect it and it will find eddie brock in a church. jsut my guess.

looks like hes going to be a main charactor in the film from what ive been reading. looks good from the trailers but that can be deciving.
