I have a friend who's abusing her medication, and I'm really worried around her. She says that since vicodin is a prescription medicine, you can't over dose on it, and that makes her feel safe. She takes multiple pills at a time... sometimes she uses alcohol with it too. Is it true you can't overdose on vicodin? I'd really like to prove her wrong, but I'm not sure.

Yes, You can! You sound like a very concerned friend and she is lucky to have someone like you. You need to show her this website before it is too late. You are really a great friend!

The best thing to do is to stick your finger down your throat (press down on the back of your tongue to trigger your gag reflex) to throw up! You are dang lucky if you don't cause yourself SERIOUS harm. If you cannot make yourself throw up, you need to have someone call 9-1-1 or drive you to the hospital to have your stomach pumped!!!! The 4 vicodin and 2 hydrocodone have a lot of acetaminophen (the same ingredient as Tylenol) and by taking more than the prescribed amount you can cause liver damage or liver failure, kidney damage, a heart attack or even induce a stroke! NOT smart!!! The Ambien you have taken too much of can stop your heart or your breathing... it is a sleep medication and by over dosing you can fall into a deep sleep and throw up in your sleep choking yourself to death (like Heath Ledger)... Are you trying to kill yourself?! Please find other ways to entertain yourself... I pray you make it through the night....

yes, you can od on vicodin, and it can have lasting and irreversable affects on the liver if you take too much of it for too long. Vicondin has acetaminophen in it, which can hurt your liver if you take too much. (especially if you take it with alcohol!!) You cant live without a functioning liver, and it is a baaaad way to go. Your friend needs help.

It's a prescription drug because it can be addicting. It is milder than a lot, but it's not safe for casual use. Sounds like she's addicted now. I've a friend that eats them, but only when there's not anything else around...anything at all. He goes until they lock him up...don't believe a junkie about drugs.

anything can be overdosed on and vicodin is a drug, so ofcourse you can overdose, most people who kill themselves with drug induced suicides do it on perscription drugs, tell that idiot to wake up, and you can ask any pharmisist or doctor. they will tell her shes on her way to a huge mess if not death.
