Ok ive been walking on the treadmill for about a week now, and i dont know how fast should i be going. I usually start out at 2.0 for about 2 minutes then i put it on 3.0 then after about 5-10 mins i put it on 3.5 and i leave it there for a while (about 45-60 min) and if im up for it ill put it on 4.0 for about 15-20 minutes(and i dont put it on an incline) . Is that fast enough? should i speed it up? and ive hear that its important to walk, then speed it up for a few minutes then lower the speed why would somebody do that? anyway sorry if i dont make much sense im tired lol o and im about 200 pounds n im about 5'10 Thanks and Goodnigght

Does your treadmill come with a programmed exercise? If not, do a slow jog than doing a walk. Your speed should set to at least 6 or above. Kick of with 4.5 for 3 minutes, then above 6 for at least 25min and than 4.5 again for 3 min.

Do note that for the first 15min, you are actually burning your sugar level only and the subsequence time you jog or run then start burning fat. So try to increase your time slowly day by day so that you could burn more fat.

increase your pace slowly, be patient or else you will get hurt. total walking time must be more than 40min on each exercise.
