You have been taught certain things by your church, but it's really up to you to decide whether you believe those things or not. Only you can really answer these questions. Just because your church teaches something, doesn't mean you have to believe in it. If you don't share those beliefs, maybe you should see about going to a church whose teachings better reflect what you choose to believe. Otherwise, what's the point. (I realize you said you are only 14, and perhaps you are not able to find a new church until you are a bit older, but it could be something to consider in the future) Don't let them make you feel guilty though for doing these things if you don't believe they are sinful. You don't need to change your outlook on sex and life unless you feel that what they're saying is true. I personally feel that masturbation is a healthy way of exploring your sexuality, and that if you feel you are gay, that's not the kind of lifestyle for me, but it's your body and your choice to make, so you shouldn't let others pressure and step on you because of it.

Don't stress over it so much! You're perfectly normal. You don't have to go along with everything the church says. It is not wrong that you're gay! You're not sinning. If the church makes you feel like a freak, then be aware that there are churches which worship the same God and think it is ok to be homosexual. When you're older and on your own you can be free to worship in the church of your choice, where you're accepted and feel welcome and can be with people you feel comfortable with and who love and accept you as you are. Have you discussed any of this with your parents? Would they be receptive? You may be surprised. If not, be patient, don't be so hard on yourself and be strong. Hang in there. I started masturbating when I was five. I felt it was the only "sin" I ever committed. Then I was baptised and promised to myself that I would not "sin" (Masturbate) any longer. That lasted about a week!

I have been unable to find any biblical text that even addresses masterbation, through online searches in the bible. Since it is not there, how can it be a sin? Enjoy your body, it is yours to do with as you please as long as you don't harm yourself. Nothing wrong with being gay, that is just the way you are, and accept that. Also keep an open mind about religion, most of what is told at the pulpit and in teachings is not in the bible, but made up by someone. Always use a reference bible to check the facts as presented there.

Christians DO NOT hate gays. There are gay people in churches everywhere. And masterbators. Here is the big debate over both:

Most churches agree that "LUST" is wrong, regardless of what gender you lust after. But there is no where in the Bible that says masturbation is wrong! There is more evidence that could argue against birth control than against masturbation in the Bible.

Now, about homosexuality: It doesn't mean that you're sick or a bad person; however, the Bible is very explicit about saying that "Practicing" homosexuality is a sin. My mom knows plenty of people who are gay but who go to church. They simply like there own gender! But they do have the CHOICE of whether they act on that or not. Having the feeling or thought isn't the sin. It is the act that is the sin. My mom also has a gay cousin who has changed himself enough to marry and even have kids! It is a mindset that can change with time.

There's a lot of debate as to whether homosexuality is genetic or environment, or a subconscious choice.

And at your age, be careful before defining yourself as "gay" or "straight." everyone is confused about their sexuality at your age, regardless of genes or environment.

And masturbation can be done without imagining about a having sex with a woman Or a man. you can do it just as the feeling, and not feel bad about lusting or being gay. So as long as you try to not think about anything in particular, except what you're doing, you aren't sinning.

If you are serious about church and religion, you can start by praying about it. The best thing would be to talk it over with your preacher/pastor, your doctor (who cannot legally say anything to your parents), or you can talk to your mom or dad too. My parents caught me looking at porn, but afterwards I felt really relieved, especially when my dad said how confused he'd been when his dad had poorno lying around his office, and when he told me he first looked at porn when he was in 4th grade. You never know what your parents know about a topic until you ask them. If your parents are serious about being Christian, or whatever religion, they should listen to you and help you, but definetly not shame or embarrass you for it. If you're worried about how your parents might react, consider writing to a Christian magazine (Breakaway is a good one), or talking to your pastor of physician as mentioned earlier.

we do what we want to do. I follow the Bible and my religion because I choose to, because I want to. I don't necessasarily like everything in the Bible, but I think its right, and so I do it. Decide what you will do. but don't declare an ultimatum that you're gay.

Okay look at it this way. I am a gay male, I was brought up in the Lutheran faith, went to church on Sunday's, and did Lutheran schooling. The more you analyze your faith the more you will see what applies to you. Remember that the Bible was "inspired by God" so to me that means whomever wrote that passage might have hated his homosexual neighbors and then declared that God hated them as well. Just about everything we do or say is considered a sin in the bible. So who is to say that we are sinning less or more than anyone else? Remember that we are made in God's image and made to be imperfect. Think about it, how could everyone who is so different be just like God. None of us are perfect, none of us are better than anyone else, but yet still all of us judge others to appear better in our eyes, to make us feel closer to God. Believe what you want and speak with God through prayer as he/she will be the only one who is able to help you.

As for the haters who keep telling you that gay is the worst or wrong. Forget them, they will never understand what you are going through. Others will always hate you for being different, but be yourself, and strive to be your best in your & in God's eyes. Take care of yourself and your faith, it will help you more than you think.

Thank you for letting me say this to you.

well i recently realized that i might be gay and im not sure yet but its looking like it and the problem i have sometimes is that i feel like god doesnt accept me for that and he hates me in some way so i feel like i can sin because he doesnt care and i dont really know if its a sin or not because there is no real evidence there is just peoples opinion but i can just say that we cant help who we are unless we just live our whole life in denial and i dont want to do that and it doesnt really seem like a sin to be yourself

Go for it young fella, I've been doing it for the past 30 years. I believe in god and I think I'm a good person. It has been going on since man first got a hard on and it will go on till the earth blows up. If men of the cloth and molest young boys, I sure you wanking won't matter in the sceme of things.

its wrong in your religion, are you serious about the religion? if not then live and be happy being gay and whacking off, if it makes you nervous that your church would tell you you are going to hell, then you have to weigh what is right or wrong, and follow your heart.
