The only problem with the other answers here is that static scare objects never work permanently. Birds are very clever and very, very stubborn, and they will quickly become used to anything that just sits there. There are many products that change to especially scare the birds. The TerrorEyes ball is particularly popular. It is essentially a large, orange balloon with holographic eyes that appear to follow the birds wherever they go. This terrifies them and they leave. Also, there are various sonic and ultrasonic devices for more involved problems. I recommend you call Bird-X at 1-800-860-0473 or visit the site at http://www.bird-x.com/. An expert will give you a free consulation right away.

I like the idea of cds much better than the pop cans wrapped in foil that was suggested to me last year. We had what I would have classified a suicidal bird that just kept flying into the glass door for 7-8 hours a day. Talk about annoying! Here's what we found: The bird was trying to scare off a predator (its reflection in the window) I tried everything to get that bird to go away and the only thing that finally worked was tacky. I had to cover my window with a sheet on the outside of the house for about a week and a half. Like I said tacky but effective. I'm hoping she doesn't revisit us this breeding season. Good luck to you and personally I would try the cd but not glued maybe hung on a string at different highths that way they will move with the wind and better deter her.

I had a problem with homing pigeons that were left behind by the previous owner. They used to perch above my lounge window and made a terrible mess. I tried all sorts but the only thing that worked was a rubber snake put where they roosted and that was the end of my problem. I haven't seen them since. (about 2 years ago)

I built a garage some years ago and as a finishing peice, I installed a rotating weather vane on the peak, you know the roosters with the arrows that point north east south and west. Birds would NOT go on that roof EVER!!!
