ok, if i don't use my computer for a while it goes to my screen saver, I come back and the screen saver goes away but when I try to click on any icons on my desktop it won't open the icon and it makes a sound everytime I click on something. The wierd thing is I can push the windows key on my keyboard and then I can click on internet explore (for example) but once I go back to my desktop, the same thing happens were I cant click on anything. This goes for my task bar as well. Please help, I have to restart everytime.

With the information you gave me I can really pinpoint what the exact problem is. The only thing I can say is to take the screen saver off since it sound like this is causing the problem. Right-click on desktop, go to properties, go to screen savers tab, and in the box put none. Hopefully this would stop the icons from freezing.

also try refreshing the desktop. Right-click on desktop, click refresh. That may be a simpler solution.
