I am a nutritionist

breast milk or formula only till after 1 year (after that time milk is fine as long as it is not low fat, but giving a child any milk is actually unnecessary)

untill after one year of age soy, cows, and goats milk are all unsafe

Goat's milk is high in sodium (like cow's milk) and is very high in chloride and potassium, which makes the renal solute load too high for babies. This can cause gastrointestinal bleeding and can result in anemia and poor growth (these problems are usually undetected until months later). Goat milk is also deficient in folic acid, which can lead to megaloblastic anemia.

Babies who are exposed to cow's milk before their first birthday are more likely to be anemic, have diarrhea or vomiting, and/or experience an allergic reaction (the proteins in milk are more numerous than those in other milk products, such as the yogurt). The excessive protein load in cow's milk can also overload a baby's kidneys. It is deficient in vitamins C, E, and copper. It is harder to digest as well, often causing intestinal blood loss. A number of studies have also indicated that early introduction of cow's milk may contribute to the development of Insulin-Dependent Diabetes Mellitus.

Formula or Breast milk until age one.
From ages 1 to 2 infants should be given WHOLE milk.
Then at age 2, I believe that most pediatricians will suggest switching to 2%

Breast milk or infant formula (regular or soy).

I can't believe all the people suggesting cows milks to children under one years old. There is a greater risk of allergic reaction, but most importantly there are added hormones. Do you really want your baby having all those hormones?

Talk to your doctor. I've never heard of giving them goats milk, but I think it's worth investigating if your baby can't tolerate formula. Ask your doctor. They will tell you your options.

NEVER, I repeat, NEVER give cows' milk to an infant under one year of age. If you or the baby's father have a history of allergies, you should delay dairy for another two years.

It is the introduction of certain foods TOO EARLY that causes allergies - not introducing them too late. You do not need to give your baby cows' milk so they can "get used" to it. A human can live it's entire life without ever having the milk of another mammal, and they will be perfectly healthy.

Goats' milk is a last resort if your baby cannot tolerate formula.

Breastmilk is the ABSOLUTE BEST!! There is no subsititute for the antibodies and nutrients in it.

Breast milk. But if allergies are a factor, some pediatricians will prescribe a soy-based formula. In rare cases, some babies have been prescribed goat's milk, though very rare.

Breast milk is (IMO) the best, most affordable, convenient and healthy way to go.

That is up to the parents and the doctors of the children. My daughter got soy formula as an infant and soy milk as she got older, we still drink soy milk, her and I are both lactose intolerant.

breastmilk.
actually there is a goats milk formula that is very nutritionally sound and is good for babies whos mom can't breastfeed or is to sensitive to cows milk. its what my daughter was on, nutritional analysis done by her dietician and approved by her.
if you do a search for goats milk infant formula you should find it. its so much healthier than cows milk or soy formula

Depends on how old the infant is. I breast fed till 6 mths of age, then switched them to Homogenized Milk. The problem with parents today is they listen to the doctors too much, and don't introduce certain foods till the bady is 1 year old. This seems to promote food allergies. All of us that were born in the 60's don't have any food allergies, cause our mothers fed us what they knew was good for us.

You can include goat's milk...

My friend was born a premmie....and she couldn't even handle her mom's milk....so she was fed goat's milk...

Cow's milk...isn't very nutrious....most people anyways are allergic to this lactose...secondly, I asked my doctor about milk...and he said this milk isn't really good for us because first of all the proteins in this milk aren't easily digestable.

I trust my doctor since he is a geneticists and he really believes in health from foods and viatmins...and he cured some of my ailements from foods and vitamins....never had I been bedridden during pregnancy because of it...and plus most people with my problems would have had to be bedridden....
