I sometimes wake up seeing things in my bed with me (a beaver, a boat about to fall on me, spiders, little blue tiny running me, scorpians, ect. ) Well last night , (I was completely asleep) I jumped on top of my husband, grabbed a hold of his hair, yanked it take and shouted "try to get past me now" . Well my husband is paranoid or something cause startling him in his sleep puts him in fighting mode. The first time I did this he about punched me in the face. this time cause I said something , he knew it was me so he just jumped on me and shouted whats the matter with you.
My question is What is wrong with me? Any suggestions to keep me from being punched when I do this?

your afraid of something, were you ever attacked yourself while you were sleeping? are you completely afraid of certain things like "scorpions"? or maybe it could be something with your brain. sleep walking? you see, your brain creates chemicals while sleeping to temporarily paralyze people while sleeping. its a really good thing considering you might hurt yourself if it didn't. sometimes the brain produces to much and you start drifting into the death zone where you can die in your sleep. you know that feeling where you wake up all of a sudden because you felt like you were falling. your brain has a mechanism that will activate to save you from drifting into the death zone. sometimes its the opposite where your brain doesn't produce enough of the chemicals needed to paralyze the body during sleep, so your body is awake while you are dreaming. you will then commit acts you do in your dream like kill the scorpions or stop that boat from falling on you. i hope this information helps, but don't listen to me, you must get diagnosed from a real doctor such as the family doctor or a psychiatrist (they are not crazy doctors, they help with problems you think of).

Yes, there is something definately wrong with your sleep. You should consult a doctor to help you with it. It could be psychosomatic, ie, some sort of tension that you hold within you, or problematic, like sleeping on a bad mattress.
My suggestion is to seek some professional help, because a bad mattress will not cause the aggression that you described. Do not let this get out of hand...ie, what if you went to the kitchen and got a knife? Please get help, for your husband and your self.

i propose that you confer with a psychologist. perchance a neuropsychologist might want to help. it would want to be evening terrors or some thing similar as one poster reported, and rigidity might want to properly have some thing to do with it, as yet another stated (or became that a similar poster? lol) yet there's a mechanism on your mind that shuts off the portion of your mind that controls muscular movements once you're asleep so that you do not sleepwalk and many times that mechanism doesn't close down the way it would want to. different cases it doesn't turn back on even as it would want to and the fellow wakes up and feels paralyzed for a couple of minutes.

you seem to have night terrors...night terrors are way worst than nightmares bc they are like a nightmare 100x over..they can make you do all that you are describing... go see a sleep specialist in your area..and oh your husband should never punch you no matter what you said in or out of your sleep...

You need to go to a sleep therapy study. Night terrors are nothing to be trifled with.
