That is not always the case. The cog in the machine that does it's job may not be remembered for doing a good job, but I assure you, the hero that took the time of day to rescue the little girl being kidnapped was definately remembered. The world is not in dire need of heroes, but if you want to be remembered for good deeds, you should ask yourself if you are just a cog in the machine. Do not think that the small things don't count though. People will be appreciative in the end. All will be settled.

I struggle with this is in my family... Even when I do something good, my parents turn it into bad... For instance, I use to be on drugs.. been off 2 + years.. All I ever hear is 'remember when we took vacation and u almost ......u were high... I have an illness that makes me finishing college super had.. Everytime I mention finishing it i get this "y go back...u know u won't pass the classes... u haven't yet..why do u think now would be any different." I do have a certificate in business and a 3.0 at college... my family NEVER brings that up ..I killed myself for that certificate and to get and achieve a 3.0 but that doesn't matter... I have worked like crazy to keep myself drug free.. doens't matter. All my family remembers and talks about is my failures... I think my family wants me to fail so they will have a reason to keep putting me down. to raise their self esteem. People who do that have mental issues with self esteem, depression, etc.. Putting down others makes them feel better.. Just let it go... u can't change those people.. I truly believe if I became a MD they should say I didn't succeed enough. I wish u the best

Because the world and everyone expects others to do good and it was such a natural thing. When someone do bad, it was unexpected and people will remember that to guard themselves from the bad thing that could happened to them in the future.

i believe that this is the human approach...but u should not let it affect you instead take it positively .....when people say u r doing something bad ...try to take it as if it is God giving u signals that u r not being good! Few people get the opportunity to be aware that they are being very bad for a while. take it as a challenge and prove the other way.
all the best to you.

try being more specific...but in general, doing good means doing what is expected of you and you usually don't get rewarded or noticed for doing what is expected of you. Only when you do wrong is it noticed. When something is done wrong it affects everything else and therefore disrupts everyone around. But sometimes by doing something very good, something beyond what is expected of you...you might get noticed that way.

Expectation of anything from anyone is the root cause of sorrow. You must have read about Jesus. Once a group of people ailing from leprosy and evicted of a village requested Jesus to cure them. Jesus touched one by one with his eys closed. When he opened his eyes, only one person out of the group he cured was there to thank him. All others ran away to meet their families in the village!

It's a test. God knows when you do good. Whether or not other people know isn't important.
