I don't know about true benefits. Nicotine is very poisonous. The amount in a cigarette if it was all ingested will kill a person.

But in minute quanities it does make a person more alert and is also calming. It is a strange drug in that it has both effects.

Those benefits are transitory--and nicotince is addictive.

So you really can't say it has any health benefits.

I do not know what it could be used for now but i know raw tabacco ( umprocesed) was used for many thing. Like durying the civil war it was cheap and easy to get ot trade for so it was used on open wounds, I have read that the tabacco plant can draw out the posion or infection. It was also used in cerimonies and seen as gift from god. Taboacco had alot of uses, it was even used s currency.

Hello =)

The only data that suggested any health benefits to nicotine, was one study that suggested that nicotine users may have a slightly lower risk of "certain" types of urinary tract cancers.

The obvious benefit of nicotine is appetite suppression, but it has that in common with all other stimulants.........

Namaste,

The best health benefit I got from it was chewing the gun. It really helped me quit smoking when nothing else could have. I kept it around for the first six months to avoid a relapse.
I'm 3 years smoke free today!

You'd have to grow grow your own because the crap that's sold in stores is crammed full of toxic junk, but yes, if you get pure tobacco you'll get the benefits of nicotine itself.

it tends to calm nervousness, but once you are hooked you develop greater nervousness in between smokes, however a hit calms you in seconds, this is how it really gets you hooked, its not worth the original calming influence believe me.
