You really have to ask the hotel. It may be permissible, but there may also be blocks on the lines allowing only the selected cable tv channel to pass through.

Some hotels offer wireless Internet. Ask them. Maybe you can contact the cable company and get a cable modem and pay the cable company directly. I moved out of my apt. and took my modem with me without telling the cable company I moved and it works in my new place that has regular cable. So check it out.

It depends on the hotel you are staying at and they would allow you to do it.
