Just like one big happy family? Maybe if we grew a whole continent of pot and kept it burning day and night for eternity? even when they had to walk, nations were still warring agaainst one another. Ronald Reagan fantasized it would take something like the Scifi classic "The Day The Earth Stood Still" to get world peace, we can't even agree on global warming, everyone thinks everyone else should make sacrifices, not them. Around here everytime someone suggests a hydropower dam, a wind turbine, drilling for oil offshore, cogeneration plants or ethanol plants all the NIMBYs start right in howling. So if the planet does flood, freeze or boil, those too stupid to adapt will become extinct, it's not pleasant, it's Darwinism. Have a nice day.

That's a fantasy. Some people are going to conflict or antagonize no matter what. Look at the natural world for example.
Animals in the wild. They eat each other to survive. Mother nature is more brutal than the hippy environmentalists (they definitely are mental) would have you believe.
Your question presumes that man is better than animals. I will substantiate that mankind has the capability to be better than animals: one man at a time.
However, on the whole, mankind is no better and no worse than animals in the wild. Find one nation today that has no crime in it's society. Find one incorporated city in America that is crime free. The physical evidence substantiates that man is a beast.
Does this mean we give up? Hardly. But before we move forward together we must together accept the realization that mankind is inherently evil.

The Middle East will never be peaceful without ending the Israeli occupation. This is the conclusion of the UN, EU, Backer-Hamilton report, and President Carter new book.

Unfortunately one bad catastrophic natural disaster would give people a common enemy and finally, people of the world would work together. Perhaps that disaster could be a world wide pandemic that would kill and be no respecter of people, race or religion. People would unify to fight that.
Isn't it a shame that humans always NEED something to fight??? If not each other, then something.

If all the nations give up their lust for armament and stop the race of developing dangerous biological weapons, instead they concentrate towards the cultural, literary and social development then i assure you our world is going to see all the nations tied by a single string of cordiality!

It doesnt start on an international or national level.
Nations can't get on if people don't get on.
When people treat and see other people as their equal, only then we can sort out the mess we've got ourselves into.
