I custom building my first and I want to build around a E6600. I've selected the ASUS P5W DH DEULUXE w/ WiFi. But I've heard and read about alot of problems with the POSTing. Is this a good choice still or what do you guys suggest? I want a Mobo that is currently top of the line and that will permit me to upgrade later to maybe a Quad but also decently priced.

yea i read some of the reviews on people that bought that board on newegg and apparently the problem is that it came with an outdated bios but it all depends on your budget and if you'd rather run crossfire or SLI ...eVGA 680i is around the same price and the overclocking side is very good and has full speed 16x SLI support or if your gonna go with crossfire then i think that board ASUS P5W DH DELUXE is the best one out there ..both of those boards supports quad core...its intel thats gonna keep the same socket with the release of quad core while AMD came out with a new socket for the 4x4 its basically 2 dual core processors on 2 sockets...that'll be socket 1207 and next year with the release of K8L AMD's first actual quad core it'll be another new socket with AM3

Intel CPU sockets are different for dual core & quad.
Only the AMD AM2 (940) socket will accept both dual core & quad core processors.

This is why I personally went with AMD rather than Intel. A 10% increase in performance on "some" applications (by going Intel)was not worth it.... you pay more for Intel now & then again when you want to upgrade because you need a new MB.
