"foreigners to run for president"??? I assume you mean US citizens who were BORN outside the US, but became citizens. Non-citizens obviously can never run for US office.
No. Under our Constitution, only citizens BORN WITHIN the US are eligible to serve as President. (The document says "natural born citizens".) It would take an amendment to the US Constitution to change that requirement, and there is no will in the Congress or the states, who must ratify an amendment, to allow foreign-born citizens to serve as president.
No. I would not support such a change in the Constitution.

NO!! Do you know that in many counties a person who migrates from another country and because a citizen of that country, They are not allowed to hold any public office. Mexico won't even give them a vote.
In the United States of America the only office the can not hold is President. Their Children if born in America and Grandchildren can run for that office.

Absolutely not. Foreigners are already influencing the vote as it is. Do we really want one in the house. Doing so would open a door that would never be allowed to close again.

Uh....no. And I did follow the senate preceedings to that particular hearing. My feeling was that I think Ms. Boxer couldve made her point without pointing out that Condoleezza Rice is unmarried. I felt like it was very disrespectful. I dont really see the need for a public apology but it would be really nice of her to pull the sec of state aside if she gets the chance and say shes sorry. The fact is she couldve stated that in a way that didnt go as far as she did.

No. We are already piecing out this country to every foreign interest at a record speed. We can't afford to also hand the reigns of leadership over to them.

Yes.
The Constitution clearly does allow "foreigners" to run for Congress. A few current members of Congress were born in other countries as citizens of those countries. And they came here, became citizens of our country, and were elected.
Why should the President be any different?

If from all the Americans George W Bush and Kerry were the best the USA could come up with a few years ago, I dont think it would be a bad idea (with all do respect).
Being born in a different country doe snot mean you are a foreigner, especially if you have been living your entire life in the US. A foreigner and a non-natural birn citizen are not necessarily the same.

No. There is a loyalty to ones birth country that is like no other. Look at all the mexican immigrants (citizens or other), their children and grandchildren. They get at these rallies and wave mexican flags and chant 'viva la rasa'.
Who do you think they are loyal to?
