I am 21 weeks and havent felt any movement yet. I have read books and the What to Expect book says it can feel like gas, popcorn, fluttering.. I havent felt any of this... maybe I have felt movement though and just havent realized it. How do you describe it?

Im not worrying.. I know it can take awhile... Im just curious to how others actually describe it. I am guessing it will take longer too because I was overweight when I got pregnant. I also wonder because sometimes I feel like a rumble in my tummy but Im not sure..and as everyone says if its the baby Ill be sure.

With my baby I thought what I kept feeling was just gas until one day I was eating hot wings and it was really persistent and staying in one spot... then when I took another bite she did it again. That was when I KNEW it was my baby! Apparently she was telling me not to eat hot wings.

Quickening is defined as the first time you feel your baby move. If you are expecting your first baby you can expect to feel your baby for the first time between 18 and 24 weeks gestation. If this is not your first baby you can expect to feel your baby a bit sooner than you felt your first. If this is your first pregnancy, you may not even associate the fluttering or bubbling feeling in your abdomen as movement whereas if you have had prior pregnancies, you will quickly know when your fetus is moving. Feeling movement as the fetus grows is fun when you begin to see your body appear to be moving by itself. Sometimes even seeing little feet pressing against your skin,

Enjoy this time of your pregnancy... it is usually the best.

At first, I thought it felt like bubbles popping in my stomach. Really weird sensation!!!! You'll feel it soon, it can be later - especially with 1st pregnancies. I know what you mean though, it is really comforting when you get to the stage when you can feel them move, at least you know they are O.K. At 21 weeks, you should start feeling your precious little one moving very soon. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!!

it could be just a tiny 'gas' like movement to actually feeling like a pot of popcorn is popping (if you can imagine that feeling)
just remember every pregnancy and baby are different--you just may not be able to feel your baby move yet--right now you wont be feeling strong jabs of knees and elbows--at best you will feel baby 'roll' around

my baby started moving at 16 weeks & it felt like my tummy was rumbling like I was ready to fart (sorry, tmi)
you can try relaxing and laying down on your back and lightly rubbing around your belly--or lightly scratching-my baby responds to that & she did in the beginning too.
I feel her best when I do that and lay on my left side now.

i am 34 weeks now and it can only be described as though it feels like there is a dance party in there now

One of the best feelings of my life.
After I felt my son tickle my insides you could not shut me up. I had a major adrenalin rush. My husband was jealous until he finally got to feel him kick. (2 months later)

It will happen for you very soon. It is a very private moment you want to share with the world. (Does that make sense) Congrats

you're in the beginning, no need to be aware, you'll find the whole subject easier than you thought it would be or might be. time reveals every thing.
