Download the free program called "Audacity" at the below link. While there, also download the "LAME mp3 encoder" which allows you to export what's been recorded as an .mp3.
Once you've installed Audacity and the LAME add-on, you'll notice on the right side of the menu bar a down arrow with the choice of "Line-In" selected. Click on that arrow and choose "What U Hear". Then, when the sound you want to record is about to begin, click on the Record button, and the Stop button when you are done recording. Then click on "File", and then "Export as mp3". That'll do the job for you. Good luck.

I use this :

AD Stream Recorder is a sound recording program.
It can record and visualize live streaming audio from the Internet, audio from movies and music played by Windows Media Player, WinAmp, RealPlayer, as well as any sounds from microphone, line-in, CD-audio.

Real-time graphic presentation of input signals during monitoring and recording enables you to save sound with high quality.

fortuitously, I too had the same problem, some months decrease back.. basically flow to settings -> sound (i imagine, or something like that) -> replace it from microphone to audio equipment :3 won't be able to do a captivating step with information from step, yet you could configure it contained in the settings.. it really is all I save in recommendations, sorry ^^
