I have horrible cramps, I'm 23, I've slowly escalated the past couple years to having to take 6 midols within 8-10 hours for the pain as well as a heating pad all day. I was still in tons of pain and wanted to know, besides going to the doctor, if anybody knows what else to do. Thanks for any help...

If you are having severe cramping during your menstrual cycle then please go see your doctor and get tested for endometriosis. This disease is very common in women and causes heavy and irregular bleeding, severe cramping and eventually ovarian cysts and adhesion's. Excruciating cramps is not normal. When you see your doctor let him know that Advil does not work for you and ask for a strong narcotic type pain reliever you can take during your periods. Doctor's should never ignore or downplay the amount of pain we experience. And your doctor won't know unless you tell him. Also try hot water bottles, they help a lot. And do not exercise, take the day off and rest. Don't go on birth control unless you really want to because in the long run it is very bad for your body.

I have always had horrible cramps, and Midol or Tylenol has never worked for me. You don't mention having tried Advil (ibuprofen) but that is the ONLY pill that ever eased my cramps. Motrin is another name for it. When I was young you needed a prescription to get it...thank God it is over-the-counter now. The store brand (generic) is very reasonable in price. I was on birth control pills for 11 years and it did make the cramps much less intense, but they did not disappear, and once I went off the Pill they returned. Please try the ibuprofen (not on an empty stomach), and good luck!

This might sound fairly dumb but if i began taking delivery manage my cramp pains went away. I bought fairly dangerous ones from time to time and i have been on delivery manage for two years and have not had whatever past the traditional few cramp pains. Maybe it will be the identical for you? I might cross to the medical professionals... possibly an ob/gyn so they may be able to supply you a pelvic examination to ensure everythings adequate down there they usually in most cases realize plenty approximately cramps hah and watch out with the ones tablets.

It also could be a problem with your body...but be on the safe side and consult your doctor.

you need to be put on a medication to regulate your periods. most people take birth control and it seems to help with it. otherwise you need to get up and move, i know you don't want to but if you excersie and don't have caffeine or chocolate the cramps aren't so bad.
