Install more RAM. If your computer has an extra memory slot, add a 16 MB (yes, MB is megabytes) chip. But given the age we're in now and all the Windows XP and Vista hoopola, 64 MB is not enough to run anything...

Yes, MB means MegaBytes. Mb means Megabits. There's a difference.
If it currently has 48 (an odd number to have) then you probably have a 32 and a 16 stick in there now. Get a new 32 stick and put it in there with the other 32 and you've got 64.

listed here are some matters to look at: First, including greater ram might make your laptop greater effecient, no longer quicker. the internet effect will make it seem that's working quicker. So on for one isntace that's no, yet for pratical applications it particularly is going to certainly make your equipment greater effectual/quicker. next, seem at what classes which you are going to be applying. If I keep in mind properly dwelling house windows ME/ninety 8 is optimized for 128mb and the memory supervisor losses efficienty after the 1st 128mb. Then seem at what applications your attend to apply. i do no longer keep in mind many software in the process the Pentium III era that demands greater then 128mb. by using the time some classes did choose 256mb, maximum computers have been working some million.4 gig machines. So in case you do come to a decision to get 256, it won't injury you to realize this, so ask your self is it pratical. As to your difficultcontinual, reckoning on your sytem, you will ought to work out what's the maxium partition to your equipment/dwelling house windows software. Your sytem won't be waiting to apply the 80gigs in one chew so which you would be able to ought to partition it.

Good God ---- get a new computer, the last time I bought 64 Mg of Ram, my son was in 1st grade - he is now in the Navy and I paid $200 for it.
Now for $800 you can get a nice laptop. You really should consider the 21st century.

That is an awfully small amount of RAM for this day and age. What type of PC do you have? If you know, what type of MB does it have in it?

Use this to determine just what RAM you need for your computer:

And if that dudette "Starting Over" thinks that $800.00 is such little money, perhaps she should buy us both new laptops!
Good luck.
