Ok so recently for a reason unknown i was banned from a forum i visit and post at frequently.

My IP has been banned, meaning i cannot even access the site to view it.

I know i can use a proxy to get around that, but is there a proxy which will let me set up another acount without having to pay?

Any help apreciated.

Ps. Have tried to contact the MODs of the forum but i have had no reply.

Are you sure it's you IP ?
Most ISP's issue IP addresses on a 'first come first served' basis with a typical expiry time of 3 days (using DHCP). When your IP expires, it only gets renewed if you are still 'live' on the net .. to get a new IP, unplug your Modem for a few weeks ...

Seems to me it's more likely to be linked to your MAC address - this is built into your network hardware - to change this you may be able to reprogramme your Modem or you may have to purchase a new one.

To sum up - swapping out your old Modem should do the trick - the new unit will have a new MAC = so you should be seen as a new user & get a new IP anyway.
