Firstly go and seek some counselling re the matter. They will help you identify a possible first contact with your family etc and a support for you. They will also explore that you firstly are comfortable with your sexuality because if you are not then you cannot expect others to be. Identify if telling your family etc is the right thing right now. Also they will allow you to role play your comming out. Sounds silly I know but really is quite effective. Who you tell first is not the issue it is who is going to support you the most all the way and help deal with people's reactions. Don't go rushing into this unprepared and without support you will only set yourself up for further pain. Good luck and all the best

Are you closer with your friends or your family? That would be the deciding factor for me. Personally, as a parent, I would want to be the first to know if my child was coming out of the closet. And by the way, good for you for being true to yourself.

You're really thinking too much about this. It's very very likely that anybody who gives a crap about you already knows. In any case, don't be surprised if you're a little let down when your friends go "duh, so what's new".
On a more serious note, I think coming out to friends first is a good idea. They are less likely to be judgemental since they don't have all of these massive, crushing expectations of you like your family probably does. Also, in general, mothers take it a lot better than fathers, though that might be kind of obvious.
In any case, good luck :P

Go through the list of family and friends as a whole and start on a 1 on 1 basis with each one starting with the ones you are closest to and you feel would be supportive. Save the ones you feel will have a harder time with it for last.

I think that the best thing to do would be to find a friend or family member that you trust, come out, and if they're supportive of you, then you should have them come along with you when you tell the more stubborn members of your family and friends.
With a support group, you're more likely to retain your self-confidence.
Best of luck to you, and godspeed.

i'm sorry you are making the choices you are in your sexual prefrences but i will give you advice none the less. you should have confidence that your family will understand. tell them all directly. it will be hard but if it is what you really want, you will have the courage.
