I have a wireless phone business. I have 9 years of customer service skills. I have this skill in which I use everytime a customer walks in the door. The problem is not that much foot traffic. I do 1000 fliers once a week - around the neighbors. Is there something I can do besides from getting a citation from the city for putting out signages & radio advertisement? Something cost effective?

Have you thought about pay per click programs? The two biggest, I think, are Yahoo! and Google

A few free resources – check out the sources box for links:

1) Create a blog pertaining to your field

2) Use Yahoo! Local & Yahoo! Groups – Be sure to read the TOS for each one!

3) Write articles pertaining to your field and/or expertise.

4) Advertise on Craiglist

Also, consider signing up for an affiliate program. These programs enable you to advertise on other's sites (your affiliates) and once a sale is made to you, your affiliates & the program are paid a commission.

I listed a few handy sites & articles relating to marketing, promotion & advertising. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* 301 Do-It-Yourself Marketing Ideas: From America's Most Innovative Small Companies by Sam Decker
* Off The Wall Marketing Ideas: Jumpstart Your Sales without Busting Your Budget by Nancy Michaels, Debbi J. Karpowicz
* Guerrilla Marketing for Free: Dozens of No-Cost Tactics to Promote Your Business and Energize Your Profits by Jay Conrad Levinson
* Entrepreneur Magazine's Ultimate Small Business Marketing Guide: Over 1500 Great Marketing Tricks That Will Drive Your Business Through the Roof by James Stephenson

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

You might need to use incentives. Sadly only certain incentives work. A friend of the family just got into some kind of deal for his business and he said something about them giving him free stuff worth like $300 and he gave it away and it boosted him 80 to 85%. I'm not sure because I only heard a little bit of the convo but i am going to try it for mine if i can learn how to do a mailorder business.
I can't call him about it because we are not that close but I can go look for the business card he left with my father with the website and other information on it. If u want me to send it to you , msg me by email and pls put it in your question (add details) so i can know because Im going to bed shortly. if not, good luck.

The old saying is "LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION''.......
It doesnt have to be in a mall, Just in a place were people spend money. Next to a school, restaurant, main street. Near a High School would be ideal they love to talk........

Good Luck............
