When you asked this question I remembered Aristotle. He thought that humans use language to make moral judgments and develop ideas when animals do not have a language or use for only getting food, alarming or sex (simply basic needs). Then I arrived Descartes. He said that " I think, therefore; I am." meant that "I am essentially a thinking thing, a mind." then, "Human is a thinking thing, essentially a mind." Here essentially mind means "self" ,because; in real we are mind, ourselves are mind. When I combine this two, I arrived the thought that being an individual, "self" needs being a thinking thing and these things use language as Aristotle mentioned. ı must add that Descartes thought that animals do not have mind.
