Yea . it is understood to a certian point, then when one keeps splitting smaller and smaller it does get absrd and murky down there, and didnt the Ancient Greeks and later Leibniz warn against this type of reductions because they lead to wrong notions and absurd conclusions?

To some degree you are right, however string theory holds up under the scrutiny of quantum mechanics and good calculus.

Why have fundamentalists not attacked physics???
