Are you drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day? #1 reason for constipation is dehydration. If you need more fiber eat more fruit and veggies. Unless it's something you need to peel, like an orange or a banana leave the skin on. Celery and apples are an especially good sorce of fiber.

I READ THE ANSWERS---AND-----most of the answers are correct but it comes down to the individual and his or her treatment of their own body----so-water helps-8 glasses daily--
any green vegetable-preferably uncooked---cereals are ok--but fiber one surpasses all including-- TOTAL-(cereal)-I MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE-which is i love coffee and i drink too much and bloating occurs-so i know from experience --off coffee-on fiber one.Choose the fruits you like-all are great-bananas are good for potassium-----but when in doubt make it easy---drink V8

I get the same thing. For fiber You can eat cereal, like cherrios.. If you want other things try apple Sauce, Water always work well and Prune/prune juice of course.I even heard apple juice. Also Keep away from bananas. Remeber when you ingest fiber have some sort of liquid with it, so it can flush your systems out. Hope this helps.

well, this is the protocol if you want to have a lifestyle that precludes constipation:
*your bowel prefers you to eat a plant-based diet... takes so much shorter a time to get through your lengthy intestinal system, and if you eat vegan (no animal products, including no eggs or dairy), you will fare better... if you go "raw vegan" (eat everything as close to its natural state as possible), your bowel will love you even more.
*if you don't go vegan, at least make organic, ripe, raw, fresh, juicy fruits and veggies a significant part of your life. Cut waaaaay back on heavily processed foods, sugars, coffee, chocolate, black tea, soda, alcohol and dairy, meat, etc.
*A super quick fix is the wholefood drink that includes a number of fruits and essential oils. If you begin by drinking 4 ounces of it and drink 4 ounces every couple of hours, and then cut back to 4 ounces a day, on the second day, you will improve your immunity and your bowel function significantly. You'll have to read about all the other benefits.
*Exercise. Pick something you enjoy and do it regularly.
Then just relax and let nature take its course.... regularly. Make this a lifestyle if you want to have quality of life for years to come. Your call.
God bless!

Have you tried Flax seed oil? It is good for digestion and sometimes helps as a natural laxative. Also I would recomend taking Accidolpholis. It is essential for healthy and natural digestion. You can get both in a pill form at any drugstore or supermarket.

Eat plenty of fresh fruits and veggies. Use fiber supplement a couple of times a day and consider adding prunes or prune juice to your daily routine. You need to sit on the toilet for 5 minutes daily after you eat breakfast whether you go or not to try to get your bowels regular.
