ME is the worst operating system Microsuck ever produced. If you are trying to just upgrade to XP and you can't get the latest updates, you're kind of screwed.

Get a full install of XP and just go for it. Don't try to upgrade any version of ME. Just do a clean install of XP.

Well first of all, upgrading from ME, OUCH!! My condolences. I was able to upgrade my wife's computer from ME to XP without any problems ( or very few that I can recall at least).

Windows ME has alot of bugs in it, many of which have prevented programs and sometimes hardware from working properly.

I hate to say it, but you may need to get the full install version and just wipe the hard drive clean. Backup your data first though.
And make sure you have all the software & driver installation disks ready.

Once XP is installed and working perfectly, you should at some point be able to get your internet connection up and running, then just download whatever drivers you need.

I know it's a bit wordy, but I hope this helps.

Your problem is you can't write over ME you must format the drive first then install XP.ME is the only software that will not allow 2000 or 2000 professional or xp home or xp pro, The IRQ Error is in the PCI Steering control you have is different between the two systems.

Sounds like a possible driver issue. Do a Restore point on your computer. I assume you are backing up your files and info.

Upgrading is never recommended by the way, especially from that horrible operating system. If you can do a clean format/install that is the best way.

You can browse the Microsoft website at www.support.microsoft.com and put in

Driver_IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

or the complete/partial message you are getting to see if you can come up with more. There seems to be multiple instances, but they are all driver related.

Going from homestead windows ME to homestead windows XP you should be doing an entire reinstall of the working device in case you have the whole version and no the improve. If it keeps failing backup all your archives reinstall homestead windows ME and do an improve from there see the way you bypass with that. What precisely is the blunders additionally would not help not understanding what the right blunders message is.
